[mythtv-users] Audio lags when transcoding 720p from cable box firewire

I've never been able to get aac working in mythtv. I have both faad and
libfaad-dev installed. I also don't see anything in the configure --help for
enabling faad in mythtv0.21. Is --enable-libfaad a config option for mythtv
or mythplugins? I tried the --enable-aac option in mythplugins, but I get a
compile error. Can't remember exactly what the error was, it's been a while.
I was under the impression that aac was basically broken in mythtv. Am I
wrong?
