Ugh. I wish we'd just nudge F10 to 2.6.29 already... Should be the  
case later this week though. The current Fedora 11 2.6.29 kernel,  
plugreport works as non-root.

I was just about to say "I've seen this same behavior reported by  
someone else recently", but I think that someone else is you. :)

With the cable box physically powered on too. plugreport and plugctl  
work w/my box even when the box is off, but test-mpeg2 won't.

That too. I should really get that firewire_tester patch I was working  
with back in November into svn... /me adds to his TODO list...
