I think the point was that your pci express 7300 will not work in
whatever slot you have in your other computer (AGP or PCI?). So
pulling the 7300 from your mythbox isn't really an option to fix your
desktop situation. However, if you just want to get VDPAU then I would
recommend picking up a card and going for it. The quality is
impressive.

Actually, my Dell Dimension 4700 is not that old. It's a P4 2.8ghz with 3gb ram, and does have a pci express slot.
I actually have some dual headed video cards (FX5200 and some radeon card)
but they're agp so won't work in it. It's the video cards that are that old : )

Ideally i'd like to get all 3 of my monitors working, so that's why i want to get these ATI Rage cards working.
If i can't, then i'll just get the 7300 installed and be stuck with only 2 monitors.

Also, another issue i have with vdpau is that if i'm gonna get it, i want one that won't cause video stuttering when
the osd comes up, and i want one that is fanless and has component output for my tv. I'm an idealist here on this one,
and i don't think any exist yet. Can someone prove me wrong please : )

-Thanks
-Steve
