To reply to my own email, I actually managed to apply these revisions
myself. It again looks good with newly recorded stuff, but stuff
recorded before the patch is still screwy and doesn't seem to get
fixed by either mythcommflag --rebuild or mythtranscode. But I can
live with a dozen or so programs with problems.

One thing the full backport does seem to have fixed that just 18104
did not is some glitching that was showing up when the OSD was up.
I'll record some more stuff to make a more extensive test.
