Yup, but I soon realised it was because I gave my newly installed
mythbuntu box an identifier that was identical to one of my old
frontend boxes.  And so the previous settings (i.e. halt) were loaded
from the DB and blatted over the correct settings that were provided
by default in the new install  (hope that makes sense).

At least, that is what I put it down to, so didn't file a bug!
