Dewayne,

You are feeding the Hauppauge S-Video, so you only want to connect the
S-Video inputs.

I'm assuming you setup a lineup at Schedules Direct for your DirectTV
channels, just assign that lineup to the S-Video1 inputs of each video
device.

You'll need to be able to change channels on the DirectTV STB as well -
Depending on your STB, you may be able to do it via direct serial
connnections, USB<->Serial converters or IR. (note: for the USB/Serial
setup, only usb-serial chips will work, and seem to be hard to find
nowadays.)

Also, if you get a picture on /dev/video0, but not /dev/video1, chances
are you plugged the 'daughtercard' with the ports on it into the wrong
connector on the PVR-500 (one is for the 2nd inputs on tuner 0, the other is
for the primary inputs of tuner2) -- if that's the case, just move it over
to the other connector. ;-)

PS: I don't have DirecTV, but am basically doing exactly the same thing
with Dish Network.
