HDHR is pretty simple, highly stable, depenendable, helps reduce heat in
your PC by NOT using a PCI. Also there have been a lot of posts where
crosstalk and interference between tuner cards has been an issue and HDHR
helped quite a bit by removing (or not requiring) a(nother) tuner card
from(on) the backend machine.

If you have a specific requirement for a PCI/card solution, please go
right ahead. However, I know of nothing (in my limited experience) that
would merit calling the HDHR "funky". Perhaps you should be more specific
in your requirements or concerns?

HTH, Dave.
