hmmm
as previous posts suggest - it really sounds like a BIOS setting. look
for something like 'Prefer <list of interfaces here>' or 'Init Display
First ->PCI Slot/Onboard VGA/PEG' (my GA-E7AUM-DS2H
Alternatively, I have seen this when a framebuffer setting goes awry
