[mythtv-users] mythfilldatabase with EIT data

Hi,

I saw this on the wiki "Its only function is to use an
XMLTV<http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/XMLTV>or
zap2it <http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Zap2it> grabber as defined in
mythtv-setup <http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Mythtv-setup>"; I took it at face
value and went into the myth-frontend-setup and disabled the scheduled
mythfilldatabase task (on my only backend) which was scheduled between 1 and
5 am.

This worked fine until I had an electrician in to do some work; the
server/backend was shut down and on restart there was nothing in the
upcoming recordings. I was monitoring this remotely as we were away and this
remained empty from Friday evening to Sunday evening.

Upon running mythfilldatabase when I got back everything returned to normal.

So my question is; what else does mythfilldatabase do? Does the Myth
database use in memory tables that need an initial kick? Should
mythfilldatabase need to be run on boot? Is the wiki wrong?

I have rescheduled mythfilldatabase to run overnight.

My setup is pretty vanilla; Mythbuntu on ubuntu 904 using hauppauge
nova-t-500 in the UK.

Thanks

Richard
