Hmm, fwiw, I thought I had a closer solution. If you go to 
Media->Recordings, you can select the filter to show liveTV as well.
Then select the recording you want and skip to the end.

Unfortunately, sound sync isn't quite possible. Perhaps (and I haven't 
checked this) within the telnet interface there is a skip to position XX 
that could be run simultaenously on both frontends?
Then a little tweeking of audio sync to improve (via the menu, adjust audio 
sync) the sync between rooms if they are close enough.
