PAL DVB-T's native resolution is 720 (or 704) by 576, interlaced, 50Hz. You
really want to be running a modeline as close to that as your card and
monitor can manage.

MythTV probably thinks you have a ~8:3 or ~32:9 display and is scaling
accordingly.
