Running on Gentoo we've had a similar problem here. The best I can
tell sometimes the backend seems to save position at the end of the
file and it isn't that the file won't play, it's that it's at the end
so there's no more to play. For some reason Myth doesn't set the
position back to the beginning and everything is stuck.

My workaround is to use the Windows MythTV Player and set it back to
the beginning at which time my Linux frontends have no problems
playing it.

Strange, but I hope somehow it helps.
