I have to agree with this.  I'm fairly experienced with getting
hardware and software working under Linux and it isn't always obvious
what needs to be done to get something going.  I've had my share of
frustrations on this front.

This reminds me a great deal of the database at
http://www.videohelp.com/capturecards.  It might be possible to see if
the search page there could be expanded to accommodate MythTV.
