So, you're asking mythtv to think about the key you pressed and make a  
decision that you want to display a menu instead of exiting out of a  
screen? But only sometimes because other times you actually do want to  
exit out of what you're doing and not display a menu. No, I don't  
believe you'll find that functionality. :) It sounds like you need a  
remote with more buttons.

Not sure what you mean. Are you sure you're using the Internal player  
for DVDs and not an external player like xine or mplayer?
