[mythtv-users] Routine Check of Drives can cause me to miss start of recording

The Routine Check of Drives that occurs one every 30 boots as default is
occasionally causing me to miss the start of my recording.

I use ACPI to manage power and so with increased numbers of restarts I
am bound to come across a routine check now and again. The problem is
that with 2250GB over three drives it can take a good 10mins to
complete. Sure I can set my box to switch on 10mins earlier but I am
trying to be as green as possible and the extra 10mins of co2 emissions
seems like a waste for every boot. Especially when realistically I could
set it to perform the check only one time in every 100 boots. Has anyone
else come up with an elegant way around the routine checks?

If not, I have found that you can setup a counter/notification to tell
you when the next boot will trigger a check and I will attempt to write
something into the shutdown check script to either:

      * make the system reboot - thus performing the check when there is
no scheduled recording and then time out and shutdown again...
        or
      * make the system boot 10mins earlier next time to account for the
        routine check.

if some one has already done this (or something like this) please let me
know as I hate reinventing wheels. If not, I will let you know my
progress.
cheers,
Glen
