I am a little concerned about your motherboard and its support for
quad core chips. However I am not sure this is the problem. The reason
for my concern is quads use a new AM2+ instead of AM2 which you have.
The difference is AM2+ has dual power planes while AM2 does not. I
know Phenom2 chips absolutely require AM2+ but not sure about the
older Phenoms.
