Allen, below are the settings i had when i got the machine gun static:

Audio output device: ALSA:hw:0,3
Passthrough output device: ALSA:default
Max Audio Channels: Stereo
Enabale AC3 to SPDIF passthrough checked
Enable DTS to SPDIF passthrough checked
Aggressive sound card buffering off
Use internal volume controls off

i left pass-through set at ALSA:default because the notes at the
bottom of the screen said that default will use the stated Audio
output device, which i had set to ALSA:hw:0,3. i'll try Phil's
recently posted settings tonight:

Audio output device: ALSA:hw:0,3
Passthrough output device: ALSA:hw:0,3
Max Audio Channels: Stereo
Enabale AC3 to SPDIF passthrough checked
Enable DTS to SPDIF passthrough checked
Aggressive sound card buffering off
Use internal volume controls off
