The 250s are fairly old, but the 150s can still be picked up somewhat 
easily on fleabay.

Why can you not use digital? There is marginal system requirement for 
recording digital TV.  Local broadcast may require an outside antenna, 
but if you have any form of cable, you should be able to pick up the 
local broadcast channels over QAM.  The only issue with digital TV is 
that you need a bit more capacity for HD mpeg2, but just about any AMD64 
or late model P4 can handle it.
