I'm still playing actually...went to watch something I taped and it is still
stuttering mildly. Still seeing the following in my log:

2009-01-07 22:46:27.181 TV: Changing from None to WatchingPreRecorded
2009-01-07 22:46:27.184 Realtime priority would require SUID as root.
2009-01-07 22:46:27.206 DPMS Deactivated

2009-01-07 22:46:27.283 Video sync method can't support double framerate
(refresh rate too low for bob deint)
2009-01-07 22:46:27.410 Video timing method: SGI OpenGL

2009-01-07 22:46:48.138 NVP(0): prebuffering pause
2009-01-07 22:46:48.140 WriteAudio: buffer underrun
2009-01-07 22:46:53.867 TV: Attempting to change from WatchingPreRecorded to
None
2009-01-07 22:46:53.915 TV: Changing from WatchingPreRecorded to None
2009-01-07 22:46:53.915 DPMS Reactivated.
2009-01-07 22:46:53.927 ~OpenGLVideoSync() -- closing opengl vsync

as for the settings I"m changing they are under the
    Utilities/Setup -> Setup -> General
      Page 4 Audio Output Device... Currently using ALSA:hw:0,0

I've been reading the wiki about the sound and still trying to figure it
out. A lot of error messages I was seeing is the the sound buffer is small
(2xxx) and trying to fill with something larger (6xxx) so I'm not sure how
to adjust that yet.

Still playing but getting very close.
