Just boot/etc from a 2gb usb stick, ~$10, no need for fancy SSD's or 
anything
or blow the bank and get a 4GB for $20
If you want it to look nice get one of those USB header > backplate pci 
slot blank things take the cable off and stick it into the usb port.
cable tie it up inside the case somewhere and your golden.

If your really keen you can get USB sticks with a motherboard style USB 
header on it rather than an actual usb plug, lots more $ for the same 
capacity though.
