Could you use vlc on the mac to do the streaming, instead of
quicktime? It will certainly send a stream that myth can "tune" to
using an m3u file.

There was a HOWTO floating around at one point that used vlc to stream
all the channels on a dvb multiplex, before multirec was working in
myth.
