I would a) not take the free car or b) take the car but only drive it
on gravel roads. I would not c) take the free car and then ignore the
conditions on its use.

I would a) not take the free cake or b) take the free cake but only
eat it from the specified cups.

I have no constitutional or God-given human right for the free car or
cake (or TV shows). I do have the right to not take the free item if I
don't like the strings attached.

In other words, I really can't, er, have my cake and eat it.
