The circuitry to convert from SVideo to composite is really just a
capacitor, which is probably hidden in one of the plugs on the Radio Shack
cable.  It should work fine.  I built a cable that does the same thing. 
You'll lose a little sharpness compared to using a TV with an SVideo
input.
