I have just put laucher icons on my desktop for the pertinent
programs. You can resize the icons so they are arbitrarily large. I
auto-hide my panels and so when you drop out of mythfrontend all you
see are the large launcher icon. Just using these simple desktop icons
gives the appearance of a master menu that lauches all of the HTPC
apps.
