This could be teh problem. I used the lircd.conf-imon from the lirc cvs 
checkout and this

file. Maybe that file works only for other receivers?

Yes I have that too, but for the test I am using the remote that came 
with the reciever. I will configuring the harmony once I get lirc nailed.
