I used a revision off only the driver file(lirc_imon) in lirc CVS after 
some adjustments were made to handle this same device-id better, since 
then I only need to dpkg-recondigure after every upgrde of the kernel on 
ubuntu 8.10 with mythbuntu rolled in.
