I think the HD3000 is similar, but I'm not sure.  The 5500 is actually
two tuners that you need to put in the same "group".  I'm no longer
using the analog tuner in protest of DTV pushback :)

Using the digital tuner on the 5500 just tell it to scan 8VSB chans
and you should get all the info you need.
