The more common name for this is "tearing"--pronounced like what you 
do to paper, not what happens to your eye when you see it happen.

While you may be able to avoid the problem by ensuring that all of 
the applicable vsync options are enabled in your video card, you 
might be in the same boat I'm am: nothing gets rid of it completely. 
Try googling the list archives for "tear" or "tearing".
