OK, so other people look to be having some success.

I think I can tie the issues I am having back to three things.

1. This changeset [http://svn.mythtv.org/trac/changeset/19956] which says
ff/rr in DVDs in trunk is broken but will be fixed soon. So that is one I
just need to wait for - it will come in due course. Next/prev chapter is
still working, so the world isn't ending on this one - and it explains a
bunch of my problems.

2. Some DVD navigation issues that it sounds like aren't uncommon -
depending on the DVD etc. So again that sounds like something I live
with.

3. What looks to be this defect here
[http://svn.mythtv.org/trac/ticket/5989]. The errors I get in the logs
look like this:
2009-02-18 07:46:37.199 [pcm_dvd @ 0xb6deaf4c]PCM DVD unsupported sample
depth
2009-02-18 07:46:37.199 [pcm_dvd @ 0xb6deaf4c]invalid PCM packet
2009-02-18 07:46:37.201 NVP::AddAudioData():p2: Audio buffer overflow,
audio data lost!

I'm wondering if it is tied to me running my Alsa at CD rates (44.1Khz?)
v's DVD rates (48KHz or similar?) Is anyone else getting this problem?

Thanks,
