Okay, been running mythtv since about 0.6, currently running Knoppmyth R5.5
(0.21 based) and have run knoppmyth for about the past 4 years at least.
A while back, maybe 1-2 years ago, I realized something was not quite right
with the mythconverg database on my backend as certain shows were being
recorded repeatedly (same episode) , In the upcoming recording and the
recorded programs listing, it would just have a generic episode description,
I contacted the folks at Schedules Direct and after following a few tests
suggested by Robert K. It was determined the feed from SD had the correct
detailed info, it just wasn't ending up in mythconverg correctly.
I lived with it and didn't think much of it until I built my new mythtv box
and went from 3 to 4 tuners, with one hooked up to a digital cable box.
I transferred my database settings over following the procedure here
http://knoppmyth.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=17867&highlight=mythconverg+record
ings+sql
specifically
mysqldump -c -u mythtv -pmythtv -t mythconverg record recorded \
oldrecorded recordedprogram recordedrating \
recordedmarkup recordedseek > recordings.sql
Basically reversed the process on the new machine. The problem has followed
me to the new machine and now with the larger number of channels, the number
of repeated items is increasing dramatically.
I've run database checks and repairs, and tried this database optimization
script a few times
http://www.knoppmythwiki.org/index.php?page=PerformanceOptimizeHowTo
So far so good. Now I've gone through and removed all the digital chanels
that I don't have both via MythWeb and via the channel editor in mythtv-
setup, however.... after running the optimization script or running
mysqladmin on the database, the channels I removed come back.
Around mindnight I deleted over a hundred channels, channel list looked fine
this morning, but now that I an back about 16 hours later, all the channels
I deleted are back :-( I've done the deletion of channels
several times now over the past few days
My goal is to figure out what changes I need to make to the database to have
this problem finally go away.
Suggestions?
