[mythtv-users] Lots of confusion as to which card(s) to buy for vdpau

I'm actually going to get the motherboard Jean-Yves has

  Gigabyte GA-E7AUM-DS2H, 9400G IGP, 512MB at 1600Mhz.. 580MHz. Supports
  H264, MPEG2 and VC-1

since it's about the same price as the one I mentioned earlier which
has a 9300.  Jean-Yves (or anyone else):  have you had any problems 
with linux support of this board?  Is it fairly power efficient and
quiet? 

One other question:  can VDPAU handle TVs with non-square pixels?  My TV
is 1024x768.  It's 16:9, so the pixels are in fact 4:3.  Both mplayer
and the internal myth player (without VDPAU) handle this fine, but I
thought I'd check whether VDPAU will handle this too.
