[mythtv-users] mythWelcome and a very slow gui?

I didn't see anything in the backend logs, so I ran mythwelcome -v all
-l mythwelcome.log.

I didn't notice anything wrong there either.  It was not able to find a
theme directory in
/home/mythtv/.mythtv/themes/MythCenter-wide

but then a few lines later on it said it was using the
/usr/local/share/mythtv/themes/default-wide/welcome-ui.xml

file and the theme looked correct on-screen. [I also tried doing a
symbolic link from the themes directory in the mythtv/.mythtv directory
to the /usr/share/themes directory and it didn't change the slowness at
all.]

Other than that, no messages that look like a warning or error.  [Other
than the joystick client not working, but as I don't use a joystick, I
think that's normal?] (But I did get a whole lot of MYSQL queries).

Anything in particular I should be looking for?

Anybody who wants to look at the full file can see it here (it's a lot
bigger due to the mysql traffic):
