This was just a suggestion to the "permission denied" error he was  
getting. As root, a simple

echo -n 10 /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/ondemand/up_threshold

or rather

echo -n 15 /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/ondemand/up_threshold

as he found out now, would do, of course.
