[mythtv-users] Odd Ac3 passthrough problem

I have been working on a friends mythtv, and came across an odd AC3
passthrough problem.  It will work when he plays .mkv or ripped dvd
files with ac3, but he gets static when he plays it directly from DVD.
 All options are set to use AC3 passthrough.  He uses the internal
player for DVD's.  Has anyone come across this problem before?  I
searched the forum and google, but could not find anything.  He is
running Centos5.2 with a Soundblaster Audigy.
