Well there are two issues. People mix together decoding and
deinterlacing when talking about VDPAU. A statement like, "X card
can't do 1080" usually means it can't use the best deinterlacer
(Advanced 2x) on 1080i material. As far as I know all of the VDPAU
cards can decode 1080 MPEG4 part 10 (H.264, VC1) material. So the only
distinction between the cards is what level of deinterlacers the
various cards can do with 1080i material. Also I would point out that
most of the cards don't decode MPEG4 part 2 (xvid, divx). Only the
newer 2xx series cards with the newest drivers will support VDPAU
decoding of MPEG4 part 2.
