[mythtv-users] Problem with PVR-500

I have just installed MythDora 10.21. I have a Hauppauge PVR-500 and I am
capturing from Analog cable here in Ireland. I had all my channels working
and I could go into "Watch TV" and the channels were there. Then I setup
xmltv_uk_rt and ran mythfilldatabase and it updated all the channel
information but when I went back into the front-end and opened "Watch TV" it
seemed like it was opening but then it doesn't open. I looked at the
permissions for the /storage/recordings directory and I got this:

Shouldn't mythtv have access to the .mpg recordings. How do I allow access
to the mytv user?

Another permission problem I noticed:

When I try to open http://127.0.0.1/ I get this error:

ERROR
data directory is not writable by apache.
Please check permissions.

I went into "mythbackend.log" and found a number of errors relating to the
capture card. Here's a sasmple of some of the errors:

TVRec(1) Error: Problem finding starting channel, setting to default of '3'.
ChannelBase(1) Error:InitializeInputs();
Could not get inputs for the capturecard.
Perhaps you have forgotten to bind video
sources to your card's inputs?
ERROR: no valid capture cards are defined in the database.
Perhaps you should read the installation instructions?

I went into "mythtv-setup" and into the "Capture Cards" menu and /dev/video0
is now showing up as a "Hauppauge WinTV pvr-150 [ivtv]" under probed info
and /dev/video1 is showing up as "WinTV pvr-500 (unit#2) [ivtv]". Previously
the pvr-500 showed up as pvr-500 (unit#1) and pvr-500 (unit#2).

If I delete the capture cards and add them again, do I need to do another
channel scan and setup xmltv all over again.
