[mythtv-users] mythtranscode and deinterlacing

is the a deinterlacer that mythtranscode can use that well not stuff up VLC or ffmpeg deinterlacer?

I have tried kerneldeint and it makes more interlancing headaches :(
how do I stop mythtranscode from using it?
