Thanks for the reply.

I have done as you suggested and audio is working, but it is still very 
"crackly" and just doesn't sound very good at all.

Any suggestions why the sound would be bad?  Previously, I was feeding 
the TV via component + stereo RCA cables and the audio was pretty good.
