[mythtv-users] Mythtv fails after a ubuntu 8.04 lts update.

yes, I havent done it but I have read posts from some of the developers
stating exactly this.
the backend and frontend upon connection to the database check the db schema
version and if it isn't what it thinks it needs, it upgrades it. The upgrade
scripts are present from quite a few versions (I have a feeling I read that
it will upgrade a schema from something as old as  0.15 or 0.18).
