Yes, I'm trying to use firewire, sorry I didn't specifically mention 
that.  As you can see from my original post, it looks like my system 
recognizes that something is connected, but I can't seem to communicate 
with it either via direct point-to-point or through broadcast.  This is 
the first time I'm setting this up, hopefully I'm doing this correct.  I 
tried to follow the manual: http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/FireWire
