My iMon LCD display has always displayed a progress bar when playing
recordings. I didn't have to add any custom code for this. It does
not, however, use any of the fixed status icons for anything.
I remember configuring the contrast when I built the LCDd (or was it
lcdproc?). The how to I followed had a step to tweak the value until
you got one you liked. I had to build from source, since the version
that comes with Ubuntu 8.10 does not support my iMon version.
