In the spirit of the comic, ripping it makes you a criminal in that you
had to violate the DMCA in order to (break the DRM to) rip it.
That was kinda the whole point of the comic in fact: that either way, if
you want something that outlasts your ability to play nicely with the
DRM you have to be a criminal either in breaking the DRM or simply
pirating a non-DRM encumbered copy.
