Are you talking about watching live TV? It always records what you are
watching that is how DVRs work. If you don't record there is no way to
pause, rewind, etc. You might as well just watch normal TV without
involving MythTV at all. However the recordings from live TV are in
their own recording group and they are autoexpired every day. So if
the space is needed for other recordings then the live TV recordings
will always be deleted first to free up the space.
