I understand.  I have no plan to use this as a backend.

I was hoping for something that was built-in and that MythBuntu would
recognize out of the box.  At $199 it is already a bit pricey (when compared
to a WD HD-TV Live) and adding a USB IR device is only going to make it
worse.
