Agreed its just a cable, in reply to a request for a "cheap and reliable" solution.  I've yet to see any data that says they are or 
are not supported on the ion boards.  They could be.  There are also similar DVI-I cables which also might work, the DVI-I socket is 
after all a DVI-I, whether the analogue stuff is wired awaits clarification.
