[mythtv-users] making my own recording categories

My MythTV (0.21) pretty much lives on the Watch Recordings screen, the 
2-column display with programs on the left and episodes on the right. I 
have a mix of episodic and singular programs of various categories all 
jumbled together, and I'd like to simplify those. This arrangement is fine 
for episodic programs with a one-many relationship, but becomes cluttered 
with movies and singular recordings with no episodic relationships. I have 
asked before (badly I think) how to organise them more simply and kept the 
replies and even in going back through them and Googling recently I still 
don't see how to do what I want. I don't want to Filter, or use the 
theme-oriented Groups available.

So here's a better description hopefully.

I'd like to be able to create 2 left-side entries: Movies and Recordings, 
so I can put singular recordings into their own container and get them out 
of the left-side list. Then I would have

  All Programs
  Movies
  Recordings
  episodic program 1
  ...
  episodic program N

It would be a bonus if new recordings could be put into their respective 
category, but I'd be happy to have a way to move them somehow, even if 
it's some SQL juggling.
