Might not help you but it should not make anything worse :) Have you
tried running the myth_optimizedb.pl script in the contribs folder?
Perhaps something in your database is a bit foobar'ed. I was having
various strange problems with recordings and realized that I had been
running for 8 months or so without ever "defragmenting" the database.
After running the script, they all went away. Now I run it weekly from a
cron job.
