[mythtv-users] RE : EPG Data and DVB-S "EPG" channel

I've tried to use epgsnoop with no success.
I've made several searchs on the net and found that Tahiti Nui Satellte
(TNS) uses OpenTV. I guess this is why epgsnoop found nothing...
It looks like a lot of sat "bouquet" is now using OpenTV for
broadcasting 7-days EPG data... Perhaps it could be interesting for
MythTV to include an OpenTV module.
It is possible to free download a SDK from OpenTV support web site. I
will look a while if there is any information we could use in order to
grab EPG data with - a least - a perl or python script.

Google for epgsnoop. It's an external program which uses dvbsnoop to
snoop on the transponder EPG hannel and extract the EPG (if it is in
standard format) to produce an xml file which you can feed into
mythfilldatabase.
Unfortunately Showtime Arabia (where i am) has such a channel on channel
1, but transmits the 7day guide in a non-standard format. You may be
luckier.
