To defend myself I had two reasons for creating such a openly loaded subject

My second reason is that there is a VERY good possibility that my subject line
is spot on. It is HIGHLY convenient that ALL of these 'extended basic'
channels are hidden from MythTVs channels scan. Not just some but ALL.
While the FFC mandated channels are all perfectly viable by Myth channel
scanner. Yes the subject is slightly over the top but I don't think it that
far off.

For some reason my mail client (KMail) was unable to quote the final comments
by hitting "reply", (quoted above, by cut and paste).

I believe that the poster was aware of this flaw in KMail, and specifically
tailored the post to cause KMail users to not be able to respond easily, or
to top post and thus get flamed.

I seriously doubt that ComCast is aware of or even cares about the scanning
problem with Myth. If they know anything at all about the Myth community,
they would realize that the problem will be solved fairly quickly.

I suspect the reasons for the observed problem has to do with the fact that
the newly-digital channels were added later to the lineup, there is simply no
benefit to Comcast to put time and effort into delaying Myth users from
finding the channels.

There are enough conspiracy theories around the world, we don't need more of
them.
