  Thanks Mike, that cleared up that problem, and allowed me to start
hunting down more things that are not right on my end.  It seems that
the packages supplied on openSuSE are a bit different than what the
normal install looks for.  I had to rename two directories under
my .mythtv to co-incide with what mythtv was looking for (themescache to
themes and G.A.N.T.1680.1050 to G.A.N.T, and fix my video driver, after
the last update.

  I'm now getting the following error when starting up mythtv itself:

  The mysql administration app does show mythtv as a client and
mythconverge as a "catalog" with videosource table updated 2009-04-12
18:21:52.
